Strap-type saddles

Strap saddles are as cost effective as a quick and easy method of connecting a 40 or 50mm waste to a 110mm horizontal or vertical soil and a vent pipe without having to cut the pipe.

They are used as an alternative to the 110 x 40 or 50mm reducing junction and also have the required 87.5° branch angle which provides a 2.5° fall on the waste pipe.

The rubber ring seal on the socket allows expansion and contraction of the branch pipe and if removed, the joint may be solvent welded to permanently connect the branch pipe to the SV pipe.

The strap saddle is fitted over a pre-cut hole and solvent welded in place to provide a watertight seal. The saddle provides either a 50mm or a 40mm branch connection.

Drill a hole in the pipe
(holesaw sizes 40mm
= 40mm, 50mm = 50mm).

STEP 3: APPLY CEMENT

Apply DPI Plastics
Non-Pressure Solvent
Cement to the saddle
and the area to be solvent
welded.
STEP 4 : POSITION

Fit the saddle in position.
Ensure that the DPI Plastics
logo is on the top side.
STEP 5 : TIGHTEN

Tighten the screw and
quickly wipe excess
solvent cement off before
it gels.

By ensuring that the DPI
Plastics logo is on the top
side, you will have a 2.5°
fall, i.e. an 87.5° branch.
